ROTARY CHARITY AUCTION
Press Release on the Rotary Charity Auction organized by the Rotary Club of Penang in conjunction with the Penang International Property Expo 2010 (PIP2010) 19th – 21st March 2010.
The Rotary Club of Penang is grateful to the PIP2010 Committee for agreeing to support this Charity Auction by allowing it to be staged during their exposition. Our special thanks also to MNP Auctioneers Sdn. Bhd. for agreeing to act as the Auction Co-ordinator.
The Charity Auction
This Charity Auction is being organized to raise funds for the Rotary Charity Foundation to finance the development of the Rotary Heritage House (located at Armenian Street, Penang) as a Multi-Purpose Civic and Social Centre to serve the community and in particular the inner-city poor of Penang. The Rotary Club of Penang has consistently adopted a policy of initiating projects that will benefit the community and in particular the poor and marginalized.
The Charity Auction will be organized as follow:

Some of the Items to be auctioned are:

? Baume & Mercier Classic Collection Watch
? NEW Rio Antioxidant Alkaline Water Purifier System
? NEW iPod touch 64G
? Supreme Wellness Screening Programme (Penang Adventist Hospital)
In addition to the charitable objective of this auction, interested bidders will be able to find some great deals among the items, such as the new iPod touch that will be auctioned off at RM1,188, where the retail price is around RM1,600! And, the new Rio water purifier system that is priced at RM1,888 where the retail price is RM2,800! There will be added joy for the bidders to find good deals while contributing to the community.
Great lucky draw prizes such as new ovens and a luxury fountain pen will also be available for those interested bidders who register their interest with the auctioneer during the three-day event in PIP2010! The winners will be announced shortly before commencement of the charity auction.
All the auction items are also available for viewing at the MNP property auction section of the PIP2010!
The Rotary Heritage House
The Rotary Heritage House is being re-developed to provide more service reach to the poor of the community as it will have within its complex, Medical Facilities for Dialysis Treatment, Tuition and Study Facilities for children of the poor, Administrative Facilities for our Wheelchair Club and the Cranial Facial Association. Seminar room Facilities will also be made available for the Club to undertake together with its Interact and Rotaract Clubs, Health Awareness programmes pertaining to the youth like obesity and proper nutrition; drug abuse and smoking.
Better facilities for Sport and Recreation are also intended for this centre so that youth of the inner city can make use of these facilities and stay away from crime and mischief. A Futsal court and a Multi-Purpose Hall will be built for this purpose and where proper coaching can be given and conducted.
The objective of this project is to show that Rotary cares by bringing Rotary services and its caregivers to the heart and core of where its services are needed. As this is a Community Project the Rotary Club would like to invite socially minded Individuals and Corporations to come forward and actively participate in this Charity Auction by bidding the items in the Auction. We who are better off must be well aware that we have a social responsibility to help the less fortunate among us.
